Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC)
Geotrace's Ocean Bottom Cable (OBC) processing attenuates noise, resolves statics, and handles merge issues that yield an AVO compliant merged dataset. For Dual-Sensor acquisition the receiver ghost is attenuated by summing hydrophone (pressure) and geophone (velocity) data. This summation may be done by either of two methods based upon testing. Factors that determine which technique will work the best include the quality of receiver coupling and the noise characteristics of the dataset. Both methods are discussed within the following papers.
