Illumination Studies
Understanding the effects of the acquisition geometry as well
as the source and receiver configuration has become an indispensable
exploration and interpretation tool. No one does it better
than Geotrace.
Using illumination, we are able to study energy propagation throughout
a velocity model and to predict dim and bright zones produced
by the energy as it travels through the earth. These studies take
advantage of the same algorithms as the migrations, indicating
the position of shadow zones, and are capable of producing corresponding
illumination volumes.
