Sr. Research Geophysicists

Qualified candidates will have a Master’s degree in Geophysics and 8 years of experience or 8 years geophysical programming experience.  Experience with the following is required:

Research and develop computer software for geophysical applications including: data regularization/reconstruction for three-dimensional surface related multiple elimination (3D SRME); 3DSRME approaches; well log modeling; velocity modeling; and noise rejection.

Details:

Reconstruct denser data based on the field survey input to provide enough data required for certain geophysical processing algorithms.  Experience with regularization techniques for both land and marine acquisition is required.

Research and implement 3DSRME to remove such types of coherent noise from marine input data containing strong water bottom multiple reflections.

Perform well log modeling, which consists of petroleum physics analysis of the rock properties from seismic data and well log data and tying those properties with seismic signatures to build reservoir information.

Engage in velocity modeling by building up a velocity model of the earth, which is used to migrate the seismic data in time to real geologic formation in depth.

Remove all different types of noise related to seismic data collection and retain only geologically sound seismic signal in order to better interpret.

Geotrace offers competitive salary and benefits packages as well as an exciting and challenging work environment. To take advantage of this opportunity to join a successful and growing organization, submit your resumes by mail or email to:
