Manager, Reservoir Technologies Group
Geotrace is looking for a qualified individual to serve as the Manager of the Reservoir Technologies Group:

  • Manage the group, provide leadership, and mentor the staff
  • Research and develop the technologies for reservoir characterization
  • Oversee the technical integrity of the group's R&D and production projects
  • Collaborate with other R&D groups and operational business units
  • Report to the Chief Technology Officer
  • Based in Houston, Texas

Qualifications:

  • Minimum BSc in Geophysics, Mathematics, Physics, or related fields; MSc and  PhD preferred
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in rock physics, AVO, seismic inversion,seismic attributes, and reservoir characterization
  • Comprehensive theoretical background and practical industry experience
  • Strong programming skill is required. C++, Fortran, and object oriented programming are considered good additional positives.
  • Effective mentorship skills and the desire to provide career mentorship and training

Land Processing Geophysicist - Perth
Geotrace Technologies, a leading international E&P solutions company is seeking suitably experienced seismic data processing geophysicists for our Perth office.

Part of a small and growing team, the successful candidate will be able to function in a Project Leader role, demonstrate the ability to independently manage projects, liaise with customers and will have experience processing land seismic data.

The candidate will have a minimum BSc. Degree in geophysics, physics, geology or related discipline.

Sr. Depth Processing Geophysicist - Houston
Geotrace’s Marine division is currently recruiting Depth Processing Geophysicists to join their growing team in Houston.

Job responsibilities will include isotropic and anisotropic model building (Beam, Kirchoff, WEM, RTM) for 2D and 3D datasets, pre-migration processing and post-migration processing and all aspects of project management.

The applicant must be computer literate with good IT skills, self-motivated, innovative, ambitious, possess great interpersonal team working skills and have experience with managing projects and client interaction. Applicants should have a minimum of either a Bachelor’s degree in Geophysics (or related field) with 5+ years’ experience in depth imaging and model building OR a Master’s degree in Geophysics (or related field) with 2+ years’ experience in depth imaging and model building.

Production Group Technician - Houston

The Houston Marine Group at Geotrace is currently seeking Production Technicians . This is a full-time position with associated benefits package. The successful applicant(s) will be expected to assist the Project Geophysicist by:

  • Acquiring a basic understanding of the marine processing workflow
  • Be trained in the use of Geotrace's Diamond® software suite
  • Perform QC at each stage of production
  • Pick velocities
  • Create tape copies and shipping documents
  • Perform project archival
  • Any other task relevant to assisting with ongoing projects

Job requirements (in order of importance) include:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Proven ability to work in a team environment (at least one year's work experience with references)
  • Good IT skills
  • Educated to at least an Associate Degree level (math/science based) or equivalent work experience in a math/science discipline
  • Knowledge of seismic data processing (optional)
  • Oil and gas industry experience (optional)

There is the opportunity for occasional offshore work for candidates who are willing and prove themselves to be capable.

Marine Processing Geophysicist - Houston

Geotrace Technologies is a leading service company within the global oil and gas sector, our focus is on providing high resolution images of the reservoir to enable our clients to recognize reservoir properties and reduce risk.

Geotrace's Marine Division is currently seeking Graduate Geophysicists to join their growing marine processing team in Houston, Texas. The successful candidate may be required to travel occasionally to one of Geotrace's many overseas offices including locations such as the UK, Australia, Kuala Lampur and Brazil.
